Welcome to Plots & Pests, a cozy TTRPG where gnomes race to create the most beautiful garden whilst kicking sand in the faces of their rivals! Powered by the SONGS & SAGAS system, this game blends a gardening sim with just a dash of mischief—because what’s a gnome without a prank or two?

Over 30 days, you’ll clear an overgrown plot of land, plant seeds and bulbs, explore the surrounding neighborhood, and recruit adorable animal companions, all while setting traps for your rival gnomes. But beware, they’re plotting against you too!

Features:

• Garden Design Meets Mischief: Lay out your garden, recruit allies, and prank your rivals as you race against the clock to create a blooming masterpiece.
• Simple, Strategic Gameplay: Use dice and a deck of cards to clear hexes, plant seeds, and overcome challenges in your garden.
• No GM Required: Play in either solo mode or in a friendly gnome vs. gnome dirt battle.
• Pranks & Sabotage: Set traps, steal resources, or release pests into the gardens of your frenemies.
• Critter Companions: Befriend a squirrel, owl, or even a beaver, each with special skills to aid your gardening efforts.
• Double the hexes: Two different hex maps—one for your garden and one for the neighborhood—to explore.
• Journaling optional: Use the included maps and character sheets to keep track of what’s happening in your garden, or take advantage of the many included prompts and play P&P as a journaling game.
• 44 Pages, available as Bookmarked Pages for digital use and Spreads for easier printing

• A deck of standard playing cards (jokers removed)
• Polyhedral dice - A d6, d10, and d20
• Your creativity and a good sense of mischief!

We had a lot of fun working on Plots & Pests, and would love to keep developing the game. While the game is fully playable at present, there were so many ideas we had to leave on the cutting floor as there was just not enough time and resources available to include it all.  

Possible further developments could include:

• Combat mechanics and monsters (inspired by actual garden gnome statues!)
• Different garden types with custom maps, challenges and rewards
• Crafting system to expand your basic tools and allow you to truly build the garden of your dreams
• Seasonal variations to add even more challenges to keeping your garden going, or expanding beyond the current 30 day competition period 
• Pre-written adventures for your gnome to explore even further than just the surrounding
